História do Livro
These Notes are intended to help teachers at school , at university and in adult education to use the Greek course Reading Greek to its best advantage . They do not tell the teacher what to do but describe the practice of experienced users of the Course and offer suggestions for tactics to adopt . The book contains an introduction which discusses the aims and use of Reading Greek . The notes themselves take the form of a commentary on the Reading Greek Text , providing help and information on all aspects of the grammar and the cultural background , with complete cross - references to the other books in the Course . The appendices offer examples of year - plans and methods of examination , and give word - lists to help teachers construct their own exercises . There is also a section giving details about the illustrations used in the Course , and information on Attic vases and vase - painters . Reading Greek is very widely used in the U.S.A. An important feature of these Notes is a section specially written by Edward Phinney of the University of Massachusetts which deals with the specific needs of North American teachers .
